Conservatism

It is arguable that Conservatives' adversaries have never found their way to a true understanding of the politics first elaborated by Edmund Burke; and that Conservatives, for their part, have not only refused to sum themselves up but have made it a principle not to reduce their politics to a principle. The author attempts what has seldom been done either by Conservatives or their enemies: he examines principles and writes about political reality.
