Concise Science Dictionary

This new edition contains some 7500 entries covering terms and concepts relating to physics, chemistry, biology (including human biology), the earth sciences, and astronomy. Commonly encountered terms from mathematics and computing science are also included, as are many new terms reflecting recent advances in techniques and materials, environmental sciences, genetics (including genetic engineering), molecular biology, and immunology. The entries are written in everyday language and are fully supplemented, where appropriate, by labelled line drawings and tables. The dictionary should be of use to school and first-year university students of science, non-scientists needing clear definition of scientific terms and scientists needing accessible reference for terms outside their own fields.
