Coaching Tennis: Technical and Tactical Skills

This is the latest in the line of "Human Kinetics" titles written under the auspices of the prestigious American Sport Education Program (ASEP). This title forms part of ASEP's Bronze Level of Coaching Education. The book and corresponding online course represent the tennis-specific component of the Bronze Level. It's a practical, easy-to-use resource that will help secondary school coaches improve their game. Coaching and evaluating skills are addressed. Then, the book dives right into the technical and tactical skills. Technical skills are carefully examined, teaching coaches not only the skills but also how to detect and correct errors associated with the skills. Tactical skills are broken down in a way that helps coaches convey the important cues their athletes need to attend to, while providing coaches with knowledge that their athletes need to make appropriate decisions during the game. Finally, the book goes into other key areas of coaching including, season planning, practice planning, pre-game considerations and game/post-game considerations.
