A collection of articles by 14 experts in the field, exploring the broad political, social and technological issues associated with the notion of Australia as an information society. As well as providing a clear delineation of the respective sections of the Australian information economy, the associated methodological problems are discussed, and there are case studies of how the growth of information technology has provided new opportunities and development prospects in particular fields.
