"Password" is a course for Caribbean schools which acknowledges the diversity of West Indian speech while providing a thorough grounding in standard English, spoken and written. Pupils should enjoy the many lively songs, rhymes and activities, and profit from the systematic approach to practical language kills. The emphasis is on competence and confidence in using a variety of registers and on building vocabulary in a wide range of contexts, both local and international. The basics of scientific and mathematical discourse are also attractively presented. The "Teacher's Books" at each level of "Password" contain step-by-step lesson plans and helpful suggestions for futher activities.
