Camouflage

A major reading scheme for the teaching of reading and the development of literacy throughout the primary years. Suitable for children in Year 2 (age 6), Camouflage is one of nine books from the Cambridge Reading non-fiction strand. This strand has been designed to introduce young readers to information retrieval skills. Camouflage introduces children to the main types of animal camouflage and helps them understand the advantages that camouflage confers. Beautiful colour photographs show how well animals can blend into their surroundings, whether they be toads in the rainforest or hares in the Arctic. In addition, children can try and spot camouflaged animals for themselves in three spectacular double-page illustrations. Cambridge Reading at Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays to offer children a variety of text types, authors and illustrators and provide a firm base for wider reading.
