Between the Immensities
Synopsis
Having spent thirty-six years living in New Zealand, psychologist Dr Katherine Moore finally succumbs to pressure from her sisters to return to Liverpool to care for their elderly mother. Moving into her mother's council flat in Bootle, Katherine is surprised at
how negative her `lovely gentle mammy' has become. Her initial unsuccessful attempts to deal with her mother's curmudgeonly attitude provide great entertainment for the family. Yearning to connect with her mother in a more meaningful way, Katherine turns to the tools of her trade as a psychologist and gradually the delicate balance of family life is turned upside-down for everyone in the most unexpected ways. Sprinkled throughout with Liverpudlian humour, Between the Immensities is an entertaining and heart-warming story of how a shallow mother/daughter relationship blossoms into a loving and extraordinary alliance.
