Publisher’s light green boards, paper label, spine lightly sunned, top edge gilt, rough cut pages, and very light occasional foxing. Slipcase rubbed and scuffed with bleaching to rear panel loss to bottom edge. Overall an attractive example of this limited edition, no. 140 of 500 signed in purple ink to blank opposite the title page. Issued by Rimington & Hooper, an imprint of Doubleday, with 250 reserved for distribution in Britain by Douglas Cleverdon. With embellishments by designer W.A. Dwiggins, this is a finely produced volume and the second signed Woolf essay issued by an American publisher that year.
