Assar Architects

The ASSAR group, with its 20-year history, has had a major impact on the cityscape of Brussels. Projects to date include offices, housing, industrial buildings, research laboratories, retail, new buildings and renovation, urban planning, interior design and programming. The firm's recognisable style is the result of its desire to design a contemporary architecture appropriate to its context. This monograph features some of ASSAR's major projects, including headquarter buildings for well-known companies such as AXA Belgium, ING Bank, L'Oreal, Robert Bosch and UCB, and several research laboratories, including a substantial facility for GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals. The other projects of note include Belgium's first new military academy in more than a century.
