AIDS Update

An university level text which presents the 16-year chronology of the AIDS pandemic in a reasonable, logical, and scientific manner, interweaving biological, clinical, social, and legal discoveries. One of the features is a discussion of the discovery and naming of the illness. Various opportunistic diseases and forms of cancer associated with HIV disease and AIDS are presented. The volume offers pre- and post-test counselling procedures and communication problems between counsellour and client. There is also insight into the many social ramifications of having HIV disease or AIDS, human attitudes and behaviours.
