After nearly three months of closure, Hatchards are delighted to reopen our doors to you all. Bookselling remains very much as it was before, with customers still encouraged to browse our five floors of books, taking delight in the vast array of new publishing and stumbling across hidden gems or first editions of their favourite novels. Naturally, we have a few precautions to help our booksellers and customers feel as safe as possible. Here are a few things to be aware of before visiting us:
We are maintaining the two metre separation rule and regularly sanitising surfaces. There are frequent hand sanitising stations throughout the shop. We ask that if you examine a book that you subsequently decide not to buy, you leave it on one of the quarantine trolleys. These will then be kept away from the shop floor until a safe time has elapsed. Everyone’s safety is our first priority.
There is now a myriad of ways to order books from us. We can do it by phone (020 7439 9921) during working hours, by email (firstname.lastname@example.org ) or via our sister organisation at Waterstones.com .
Our subscription service has been going from strength to strength during the lockdown with more than 500 individually chosen books being sent out each month. A wonderful gift for yourself or anyone else, tailored specifically to your passions and interests.
For the time being we will be opening from 10.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday, and 12.00am to 6.00pm on Sundays.
