Having been part of the Action for Happiness community for a long time, I am delighted that this book exists and that everyone can own a copy. Written in a very relatable way and a true guide book for all.
“Make Life Happier”
(Paperback)
Dr Williamson has produced an easy read with many practical ways to feel better through helpful evidence based experiments to care for ourselves and others.
“A great personal investment”
(Paperback)
An investment in ‘Make Life Happier’ and integrating some of the practical actions it contains will yield a far greater personal return than the financial outlay may suggest. Feeling happier is not an end point, and Mark Williamson offers a range of personally road-tested, practical ideas which have the potential to enhance everyone’s life and propel us on the journey to increased happiness. Written in an easy to read, engaging, humble and typically compassionate style, the ideas he offers are based in research and science. The reader is invited to become a ‘happiness scientist’ and to experiment with the material and its implementation using a rigorous ‘scientist-practitioner’ approach. The material covers a range of options - from experimenting with ideas for internal change, focusing on others and making connections, through to contributing to change in the wider world. This book is a real gem and should be available to everyone.
“A very much needed book!”
(Paperback)
i have been a fan of the Action for Happiness approach for a while. learning to make the most of every situation, that sadness, for whatever reason, can be approached differently. The world is not the happiest of places today and facing job uncertainty in the NHS, so this brilliant book dropped at the exact right time for me. SO many helpful little tools you can use on a daily basis when life gets rough to handle. Love it!
Its not a book you would usually read cover to cover, but one you dip into when you need it the most. It gives so much information, so even if you have never dipped your toe into the world of wellbeing, of mindfulness, it really doesn't matter, Marks book covers the basics, the how and why our body and mind responds the way it does to stress, anxiety, sadness and grief. Its also squished full of meaningful quotes, which is my personal favourite! i used to write a meaningful quote each week, on a white board in a clinic room i worked from in a previous role. No one ever rubbed them off! 100% recommend this book!

I know, as someone with serious trauma experience, as Mark's book has indirectly been my positive journey for the past 20 years. At times, I have been close to tears and emotional, but delighted that the journey I chose was the correct one. I thoroughly recommend Mark's book and may you enjoy the "journey!!"
