Please join us for ‘Spencer Fung in Conversation’, an evening to celebrate art in its most natural form.
Spencer’s first book, Architecture by Hand, is illustrated with his own exquisite sketches and drawings. It focuses on ‘noble’ materials including oak, ash, marble and stone. This talk will be about his work methods. “I source natural materials locally in quarries, fields and woods, and work closely with crafts people. I observe their heritage skills and develop and apply them to contemporary uses in architecture surfaces, interior finishes and furniture forms…”
Spencer is a UK-based architect renowned for his “warm modernism”,who also designs interiors and furniture. Best known as the architect behind Daylesford and Bamford, he has attracted global clients for his furniture including Joseph Ettedgui, Kelly Hoppen, Saks 5th Avenue and the influential New York galleriest Ralph Pucci.
Tickets are £5 and include a complimentary glass of wine, they are also redeemable against the price of the book. For ticket enquiries please see a bookseller in store at Hatchards or call 020 7439 9921
