From uplifting blue hyacinths in March, peachy peonies and delicate pink foxgloves in June, shades of gold and orange in the autumn, through to pine boughs and jewel-like berries in December, Michelle Mason shares her tips in Flower Market: Botanical Style at Home on making the most of seasonal plants and flowers throughout the year.
Michelle co-founded Mason & Painter, a vintage emporium on Columbia Road, east London, in 2013. Inspired by the range of flowers available just outside her door in the world-famous Sunday flower market, her new book shows how to instantly update a room using flowers in season skilfully combined with flea market finds and household items – often without spending more than the cost of a posy of sweet peas.
Drawing on her design experience, Michelle plays with shape, colour and composition to create stunning combinations that display fresh flowers to their absolutely best advantage, bringing true botanical style into your home whatever the time of year.
